Week #10 / 5 Mar: Show Us Where You Live - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

Show us where you live this week. Pick an ink that says something about where you live (climate, geography, food…): e.g. red brick houses, desert brown, luscious green forests, deep blue glacial lakes, slate blue harbour, and so on. evyxmsj contributed this idea.

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Week 10 - show us where you live... I live on a small Caribbean island. From almost anywhere on the island you can either see the sea, or easily reach a point where you can. I live close to the narrowest point of the island, and so I see both the windward and leeward ocean...

Most people associate the Caribbean with the (almost?) turquoise that you see on the beach. But when you reach deeper waters, the darker blue takes over, and it's also what I see on my daily walk around the hill in my neighborhood, where I can overlook the ocean on the windward side: the dark blue of the deep sea.

Lgsotek, careful what you wish for, our scourge is drought...

In fact I could do - but I won't - an inky theme based on the colors of the land - reddish brown, greyish green, for when we are deep in the dry season.

Although truth be told, we have had an exceptionally wet twelve months just past, and the island is greener than I think I have ever seen it in march!

And it is really good to be able to see the sea...

I must go ink up glittery golds and neons.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Did you have a good vacation?

Yes, thank you! I spent the week with my aging parents in their 55+ Florida retirement community. I did win ONE of my shuffleboard matches - those old guys are GOOD!

Each week there's less and less of us. C'mon guys, show some inks :)

(I neglected to clarify in the above that the reason we had to switch to an EF nib is because, well, that's where I "live". :) )

I live in a medium size city in Texas, but I'm traveling right now & the inks I have with me are more suited to describing the surrounding area than the city itself. (I haven't been the biggest fan of Callifolio inks primarily because of the moderate to low saturation, but it turns out, they are fairly good for describing the landscape. :))
