M600/605 2017 Launches: Any Information Yet?

Hi all,

I'm working on my dwindling pen budget for the year and was wondering if anyone had any information on M600/M605 launches for 2017. I emailed Chartpak back in November, and they told me that there were new pens coming out in February/March but they didn't say under which umbrella. They said that they would forward my question to Pelikan Germany, but I never heard back. Thanks for your help!

Pelikan doesn't give out upcoming product info and Chartpak is certainly not helpful on that front. I'm not at liberty to give out any details but an M605 release is anticipated for later in the year, perhaps early fall.

Thank you! It's good to know that there is still time to save up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's what I'm hoping for :)

That's my guess too. I'd be down for an M605 Stresemann, but I'm hoping for an M605 demo with the technical engravings. (that and what would be my grail Pelikan... an M605 Gekko Moonlight  , which I know will never happen, but a guy can dream...)

I'd be all over an M605 Stresemann! But I think they should announce it the first day of March and get it into the dealers by next Monday :P

A 605 in "Equals Sign" finish? That would be a new look! Doesn't 605 denote silver toned furniture? If so it's hard for me to imagine a 605 Tortoise. (Darn it!)

I don't know why they aren't coming out with a 600 series tortoise; I have been sending daily directives to the creative content department in Hamburg using my Captain Kirk communicator/phaser, ... daily!

Nah, that's "lines". Which obviously means a new smaller version of m7000 Majesty. Neat.

Kaweco Supra (titanium B), Al-Sport (steel BB).

Parker: Sonnet (dimonite); Frontier GT; 51 (gray); Vacumatic (amber).

Pelikan: m600 (BB); Rotring ArtPen (1,9mm); Rotring Rive; Cult Pens Mini (the original silver version), Waterman Carene (ultramarine F)

That would indeed be very neat! I'd probably have to get into the gun safe and sell something to be able to afford it though :yikes:

You guys really should not have evoked the possibility of a M605 Streseman. Now I'm already plotting how to adapt my budget...

I would love a purple/lilac striped 605 .....

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

not streseman.

Thank you for the clues! Now I'm even more curious though :P

I could resist anything but this. If it were purple I'd have to have it.

Well, while you guys are at it, you could let us know if there are any new M800s coming and when it will be released. Gotta start saving the pennies...

Any further hints also appreciated ;) (although I have no idea of what Printhardcopy's hint means... horizontal stripes, like rings?? That would be fun. A Pelikan in pajamas :) ).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
