Its sheen is almost as good as Robert Oster inks.

 

I made an interesting discovery, quite by accident: if you put it under water, the green will wash away leaving a rather nice light blue color - which does not wash away (don't know if it fades, but it's water resistant).

I keep getting better results with Y-D than with Fire and Ice, which was designed to be a sheener. But I shouldn't kid myself - the Waterman nib I use with Fire & Ice is nowhere near that inlaid Targa BB. Way finer and therefore also drier.

 

Ha! Your discovery intrigues me. I'll look for some old written samples and put them under water. What a versatile ink - you have blue, green, sheen and Montblanc Miles Davis if you fancy bathing with your notebooks.

I find that Blue Denim sheens better than Fire & Ice. It's a very similar color, but a little darker, and a little bit of green in it. I also prefer the look of Blue Denim after the writing has aged a little - Fire & Ice seemed to have dulled a bit (could be my imagination - I'm thinking of getting another sample so I can make sure I don't want a bottle - I bought a bottle of Blue Denim and love it).

I use Y-D daily in my TWSBI Eco (1.1mm stub) and it shades and sheens wonderfully in my Miliko notebook. My favorite ink for a stub nib!

So, speaking of overly saturated inks.....

 

When I finish a fill of ink, I refill the pen immediately with water and Meyers dish soap so that the ink doesn't dry out in the pen and feed. Much to my surprise, sometimes the ink water is still vibrant enough to use. So, here is an example of dishwater and Private Reserve Sherwood Green.
