Nothing exotic, just something I found at the local stationary store.

I finally got around to getting something written up and scanned in. This week's ink for me is Noodler's Ellis Island Blue Black, which I'm really liking a lot....

Technically, I had picked up Ellis Island *first* of my most recent ink purchases -- but I already used the other one from that trip, MB Leo Tolstoy, for Week 1's theme....

Well, the first time I ever went to FPH I was looking to match the (probably reconstituted and diluted) ink that was coming out of an Esterbrook I'd picked up in the wild a couple of months before. Back then you could still dip test inks (except for MB because the boxes were sealed). So I tried nearly every blue black they had, including both Ellis Island and Henry Hudson Blue, but couldn't find an absolute match. (Ended up in Art Brown's, back when they still existed, and got a bottle of Diamine Denim as the best color match and Noodler's Manhattan Blue as a shading match). But I kept a mental note of HHB, which I picked up on a subsequent trip. And then in December I got a bottle of Ellis Island (hate the plastic bottle, BTW -- I'm SOOOO glad Nathan Tardif found another source for the glass bottles). And since this week's theme was "New Kid on the Block" (and I'd already tried MB Leo Tolstoy), Ellis Island was it....

I had kinda avoided it because I didn't know how close it was to Diamine Eclipse. But they *are* different, so I'm okay with having both.

One of the batch of Chesterfield Antiques I bought before the line was discontinued.

I think this may be one of the driest inks I've ever used! (The other driest is also a Chesterfield ink: Siam).

My other pen is a Montblanc and...

My other blog is a tumblr.

My "New Kid on the Block" is Franklin Christoph Spanish Blue. This is a nice turquoise that appears well behaved so far. It does shade some on Tomoe River paper, but no sheening (sad face). It works well on almost all papers I have used, with little to no bleedthrough and minimal show through. It does have some water resistance, which is nice.

This is something I got from ErrantSmudge back in December. So while I have picked up a couple of samples since, this is my last bottle acquisition.

Sorry, but can't get it to transfer vertical. I changed it in photobucket to be vertical. But the IMG file didn't want to play nice.
