Hello everyone,

I have bought this pen from power seller "pen-seller" on eBay aka Michael Rheinlander for 1350 euros. I would like to confirm if it is real or fake.

I am a new hand to Mont Blanc pens and I would love to learn more please help me thanks :) the serial code looks a bit printed to the top to me and also the Germany letter on clip is not in capitals.

There is the "metal and prix" behind the clip and flashing a flashlight into the retractable nib I can see ruby red.

Retractable nib, 18k plated

Please help me see if it's real or fake thank you!

I don't recall this pen in the boheme chart pinned at thr tip of this forum. I am no expert in Boheme pens though. I don't know if there was ever one called sharkskin. I think the wrapped ones were all cow leather.

looks too real to be a fake. ;)

No, honestly, I haven't seen or heard of a Boheme fp with the slide mechanic to be faked, did one of you?

I'm going for authentic. The retractable mechanism is a bit complicated and I don't think there are many fakes about that have one exactly like the authentic Montblanc version.

This was a colour that Montblanc produced, so that's another + for it, and the feed looks exactly like the one in my authentic Boheme. :)

I would go to Montblanc and let the pen maintained, If they do that you'll be sure it's authentic. If not you can get your money back,

But that would cost him money that he might not need or want to spend as the pen is authentic and writing perfectly.

Hi, I did a lot of investigation on the Boheme's. I have one without a number and it's also a real one. Its been cleaned now at Montblanc. What I found out in my research that the nib engravings on the real ones are more clear, deeper and sharper. Als I haven't seen a fake one with the twist mechanisms only the bigger ones.

For me you have a real one, its obvious.

Enjoy writing with it!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
