Hi Everyone!

I am writing to introduce our product launching today on Kickstarter. It's called the "Lattice Cubed"; a 3D printed titanium pen. We are a husband and wife team passionate about 3D printing technology and design. Please take a look at the link below, give feedback, and ask any questions you would like.

We hope you like it! Thanks for the FPN support!

I like the design and titanium material.

I don't like the diameter, twist mechanism and the price.

Good luck anyway!

Thank you for your feedback! It is much appreciated.

A smaller diameter pen is in planning but we had to start somewhere :) .

Hopefully it will be something more to your liking next time.

Any plans to make a fountain pen?

Yes! We are working on the fountain pen, and we actually already have a prototype. However, we are still working out some final design details. Since we are not willing to compromise the design, and have very high expectations for quality, feel and finish, we decided that we would launch the pen / pencil first. If we are successful with the Kickstarter it will not be long before the fountain pen will come out.

I sure would like that pencil but alas, I just can't afford it. It's beautiful (almost certainly even more so in person) and a still unusual manufacturing process, but I don't think my landlord would be too happy if I bought it instead of paying rent!

I'm guessing when the fountain pen comes out I'll be in the same situation.

Curious, what mechanism does the pencil use? I suspect it is made in Schwarzwald?

Hi Aramchek,

Thanks for you comment! I'm glad you like it. And yes, you are right; the parts are coming from the "Black Forest". The twist mechanism is the DR 540 DS.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
