I recently received my new JOWO nib for the TWSBI Diamond 580AL with a custom Waverley Grind (EF) and WOW is it a great writer. The smoothest EF I have ever written with. I love my 580, but I it feels like a whole new pen :)

The price couldn't be beat either (the grind was only 9 pounds). Definitely recommended.

I'll second that! To date I have a medium cursive italic, broad cursive italic, needlepoint and fude nib from the guys at FPNibs.com and I can heartily recommend them. Really good nibs.

Since no one else had mentioned their architect grind (available for *far* less than most other professional nib grinding services I've seen), let me chime I'm to say they do a fantastic job with this too...

Sure - here's a side-on shot of the nib first of all:

And here's a quick note I wrote to show what the pen can do - sorry my penmanship ain't the prettiest! [Also, I just swapped the nib into a nearly-empty pen, with Diamine Purple Pazzazz - so you can probably seem some of the shimmer...]

I'm absolutely in Love with FPnibs. I bought from them an Architect grinded nib for my Lamys and it's wet and smooth just as I dreamed of.
Now I've ordered for my VAC 700 a brand new B nib, ruthenium coated, adjusted to have a little more flow. I'll post some photos as far as I receive my new baby!

Probably my next add on for one of my TWSBIs will be an oblique stub or something really new to me, obviously grinded by Pablo.

I have FPnibs in TWSBIs (Minis). Mine are just "standard" EF, F, M but they are very smooth writers, even the EF. Their service was excellent, too.

I only spent like $30 but emailed them back and forth like 4 times. They were patient and really helpful. I really great company.

Would it be possible to see a writing sample of these custom nibs? I'm especially curious about the medium and broad cursive italics. I foresee some CIs and architect nibs in my near future...

Thanks!

This was a broad cut to an italic (apologies for the poor photo and writing of course)

Great line variation! I assume it must be a "crisp" italic.

Thanks for sharing.

Dear all

What Jowo nib size fits Diaond 580?

JoWo make a custom nib for TWSBI - it's a #5 (roughly), but with a wider 'wingspan'. It's not the same as the #5 pens you can buy from a JoWo supplier - the nibs for the Diamond Mini (or Vac Mini, or Eco etc) is closer in configuration to a standard JoWo #5 nib, but the curvature needs to be adjusted slightly to get a good fit.

That's right, TWSBI nibs are a custom design by JoWo so a normal JoWo may not work. If you want a nib other than the standard TWSBI sizes, fpnibs.com sells TWSBI nibs that they will custom grind to your own specs for a reasonable price.

I want to thank you because this topic show me how to obtain a very good fude pen: TWSBI Diamond Mini Classic with fude, just arrived today.
Together with my Diamond 580 Prussian Blue, is a perfect pair for drawing.

Even so, you'd end up with a fragmented list, and it becomes an O(N²) process for each prospective requestor to check what is available: effectively recreate the list of currently active servers (without any reliable up-to-date info upfront about the inks and number of samples on offer in the thread) from the sequential list of posts, which may be spread over two or even more pages, and then query each server independently to check what is currently on offer.   It comes down to not hav

If one wanted to do this, one could just use the "About Me" field which appears to be unlimited in size.  And if a bunch of people wanted to cooperate, the Member Title field (or signature) could be used to this end - "Ink Giver" (or some such) could be used by those with inks to give...  No software edits required.
    • Arkanabar
I suppose the update issue could be mitigated.  One would post a link in signature, to the particular part of your profile where you list the inks that you're willing to post samples to others, gratis.  But looking at profiles, I suspect that would require an edit to the board's software, potentially a nontrivial task.

I read your idea as getting willing givers to publicly register as members of a set of heterogenous servers, in a system in which a client would explicitly select an available server from a list, to which he/she will then send a request privately and asynchronously. Request handling in the system is unmanaged, and individual requests are handled by the targeted servers completely independently on each other. I think the model is fine, although there are some operational concerns you may want to

First thought on the method/system of ink sharing: Think the best way, to begin with, is to follow the way of the US thread: offer up a (small) list of inks you are willing to PIF, to whoever expresses interest. Write clearly in the "mission statement" how it works, with a tiny "quid pro quo" that even a struggling student can comply with, i.e. post your opinion and a writing sample, with option of a full review if desired.   So yours truly might say: "I'm offering up samples of D
