I am new to FPN as of today. Google led me to your site when I decided to see if I could get an Inoxcrom that I bought in France 8 ish years ago to write again. Back then I had no clue what a fountain pen really was or how to take care of it. Still no clue what the pen is other than an Inoxcrom that will use standard cartridges. A good soak managed to clean out the old ink and it seems to be working fine. Let the fun begin!

Welcome to the FPN.

 

Nice looking pen you've found. What color (s) of ink do you plan to try in your Inxocrom?

 

You know that you are not restricted to just using cartridges in your new pen. By using bottle ink you can have any color in the rainbow! Once you have some cartridges that the ink has been use out of, save them & rise them out under room temp water, soak the carts until you get your syringe Then flush them out using a cartridge filling syringe, this can be found at Goulet's Pen Co (no affiliation). Just Google Goulet's. Then enter in their search line, syringe to fill cartridges, and it won't cost much. Might want to buy some bottle ink either there or Amazon or were ever you can find a good brand for less. By the time it arrives, you should have some empty carts. Just refill the carts. Costs much less than buying carts of ink!

Welcome !

 

As mr2txaggie advises, cartridges can be refilled. DO use a syringe ! You might be tempted to squeeze the cartridge. DON'T ! It will crack.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
