I believe the design is quite nice but I can't find any info concerning the pen dimensions. What are your thoughts on this one?

I saw this one, too, and thought it looked pretty nice - though it's not a million miles away from the design of the Namisu Nova? A little less tapered, and no titanium option, but the same minimalist look and feel. I have a Nova, and am very happy with it - so I'm trying to decide whether that means I should support this campaign too...

On the campaign page, details of dimensions were as follows:

SIZE

length capped: 155mm

length uncapped: 143.5 mm

max diameter: 14.5 mm

min diameter: 12 mm

avg grip diameter: 11 mm

WEIGHT

capped: 39.8 g

uncapped: 31.4 g

Nice. Would consider one if I didn't have the Nova. I prefer the design of the Nova slightly over this one but if it is on par with the Nova, it will be a very nice pen.

The problem I have is nowhere does it tell us what the international shipping is. I got caught once already this year when after placing the order because I was reassured the P&P would be reasonable (foolishly I trusted the vendor!) I was hit with a $48 (US) postage demand!

Once bitten!

Thanks for the link.

This does resemble the Nova, which I have and like a lot; but I'm a sucker for this type of pen design.

I think I hear a rationalization knocking on the door.

Once you hit the pledge button (and before you hit confirm!), the website should calculate and display a cost for shipping. For Australia, I think it's an additional US$20.

As one of the creators of the Trilogy Pens ZERØ Kickstarter that is live now, I would be glad to answer any questions. All information about the pen can be found on the Kickstarter page and our website. If you want to read reviews about the pen, check out them out at Office Supply Geek, The Clicky Post, Gentleman Stationer, Gourmet Pens, and Pens Paper Pencils.

Cheers,

Jay

  • 7 months later...

Did anyone get one? I got one in black with a silver nib and really like it. Love the minimalism of it and the size. My only cons are that it can get a little slippery and that it rolls around everywhere (that is kind of expected given the design but still annoys me from time to time)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
