I understand, but if everyone in the US did that, a place like Vanness wouldn't carry the inks at all.

They were supposed to be back in stock "mid-September". So hopefully soon.

That's true.

Don't worry, it doesn't work like this :) If everyone from US ordered from us directly we'd simply stop offering that, becuase simply we wouldn't find enough time to do it :)

We're extremely glad that Vanness does the great job in US. Shipping from Poland to US is very tricky, sometimes it takes a week, sometimes a month and is hard to predict and thus it causes many troubles which then we are blamed for. It is just much more convenient to ship to Vanness by a faster service and then suggest to any US customer inquiring us directly that it'd be faster to order from them :) The cost is the same (or even it is sometimes cheaper to order from Vanness, they offer free shipping over a certain value).

btw, @Lgsoltek, thanks a lot for sharing the reviews :)))

Regards, Agnieszka vel Mrs. KWZI

Not a color for me. I'm not a big fan of orange reds (or oranges in general, for that matter).

A wonderful ink, stunningly intense color and great performance. My choice for orange in the "Best ink for each color" thread. In a really wet pen it can be hard to see that it's orange unless it's next to a brighter red. On good paper it dries to a very shiny finish; for the longest time, I thought it was a silver sheen but, no, I think it's just shiny, like enamel. You can even run your finger over it and feel the line.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I have this ink and love the colour, but I find that my bottle smells a bit funny - not like mold or anything, just a sharper chemical smell than most inks. Has anyone else noticed this with their bottle?

~ KWZ Grapefruit is one of two inks I'll be seeking in 2020.

The other will be Montblanc James Purdey & Sons Cigar.

Thank you to those who posted in this thread.

Vanilla sort of?

it's the preservative I believe...

best to have it in there though, your ink will last at length.

I like this ink color a lot, happy and vibrant. Reddish orange is a good description. It’s useable for writing, unlike Edelstein Mandarin which is too pale unless your pen is a gusher (also not good for daily writing). I don’t care for the smell, but it’s not a deal killer.

I love it! I had a sample from Vanness a few months back. Even though I am now trying to focus on samples instead of bottles, I should pick up a bottle. Of the small sampling of reds I have tried, it's easily my favorite.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
