Can Anyone Identify This Fountain Pen Used By Amitabh Bachchan?

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if anyone could identify the fountain pen that Amitab Bachchan is using. I thought it was a Parker Sonnet Cisele but the barrel is not all metal, so not sure. Any help would be most welcome. Many thanks.

Arghhh ... I take this comment back! It is indeed a Balzac! I wasn't reading the taper correctly and didn't see the gold ring just above the nib! This is what happens when you have Pelikan on your mind.

It appears to be in the Pelikan 140 family or up a number or two. He uses his pen uncapped.

Amitabh Bachan ... an angry young man in the late '60's. Now writing letters to his granddaughters.

It kind of looks like a Montblanc Balzac but it could also be a Pelikan Streisand....or however it's spelled.

Pronounced STRI-ZAN .

I'm ignorant of much and many things. I had to look up who he was.....but I'm so into film  *, he could have been some character actor or a writer or a Nobel Prize winner.

He's as famous as George Cloony to 1 billion people.

*How could I be into film? I'm here or writing a book....it really takes a great movie for my wife to twist my arm to look at it. I watch history, archeology and boxing.

Grumble, grumble....another pen too long to post...so not my cup of Darjeeling tea.

The opening credits to Jhoom (if I'm spelling it right) are addictively catchy and I want that hat and coat he's wearing. The man has endless legs!

GP- Amitabh Bachan is a real tall man, at least about 6' 4". I sort of met him as a child, his wife is the daughter of a family friend. And, as a child, I didnt like him, he was a rather prickly, and an unfriendly sort of person, and this childhood dislike made it difficult to like his work in films.

That explains the way he moves. I'm more of an SRK fan as I prefer his version of "Don".

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
