What Was The Last Pen You Sold?

Why you sold it does not matter unless you want to add that. I am simply curious, given how much we talk about pens coming in, to hear about pens going out.

I have none up for sale right now although I have a couple which I now see as surplus, not to keep everything. Most likely they will go on Gumtree because the auction market for pens is not big here, and shipping cost from Oz makes sale of lower price items diffiicult on FPN or ebay.

Still, I thought we could start the thread right now, only for the last pen or two you have sold. Claiming you are about to sell something does not count until it happens. :)

These were the last pens I sold (latest first)

TWSBI 580AL Blue

Geha Schulfuller

Parker Duofold Sr (streamline) burgundy/black

Wahl Eversharp ringtop in Kashmir (I think)

Mabie Todd Swan 100

Waterman 94 steel quartz

Parker 51 midnight blue

Of these, the I bitterly regret selling the two Parkers and the Waterman. I sold them due to the frustration I had of dealing with 'people' on eBay trying to screw every last cent out of every deal, meaning I had no other way of raising funds. I then ended up with much worse pens.

They were really good ones. Far too good to be sold on a chasing whim. What makes it worse is that I will never see pens like that again.

Well, you did ask. Sorta.

You don't know the half of it.

However, we have to live with our mistakes. Mine have been huge, aided and abetted at that, and have meant that I have severely wound down my involvement. Was just looking in the pen cup tonight and with the exception of my two Pilots, an FC, and a vintage Aurora, the rest is just junk. Couldn't even sell the stuff. Basically means I'm stuck with it.

TWSBI Eco.

Sold to upgrade to 580AL.

Will eventually get another Eco - it's just a extremely good value for money pen. This time, an all-transparent one.

A sincere man am I
From the land where palm trees grow,
And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.
Time to die.

Sold a whole batch of Esterbrooks. Not my thing and they were something someone else likes and sells.

I sold two Montblanc 149's. One was a 90th Anniversary with a Medium nib, didn't really care much for the rose gold once I got it in my hands. The other was a Medium point that came with a lacquered pen case, I kept the case for my mid fifties 149.

I just had too many of these that I was not using and a fellow member here stated a desire for one of these, so I sent off a couple for a test try and they never came back. Good for all parties involved.

61 Flighter, black 61, blue Estie SJ w/9788. Black 61 was my second fp buy after finding FPN. The flighter was a pick-up from a lot & the SJ was an accidental win from an auction I didn't remember bidding on. All three were just sitting in a box of stuff to clean up (& resac) for use at some point. Had no interest in doing so in the near future & needed to recover some funds spent elsewhere.

I sold two last week. The first is a Waterman Carene that came in a trade but wasn't quite my cuppa. The other is

an Omas Milord. I have a large collection of Omas but have decided to reduce it to just the celluloid Paragons, plus a few other very special pieces. This great writing Milord is on its way to a new home.

I sold all my Vacumatics at the LA Pen show...nails every one.

I offered to sell my boss a Model 52 with a nib I bought from Mr. Mottishaw, but he told me I wasn't asking enough. We're still dickering.

Just sold a MB 149 from the early 1990s to a friend locally. Probably will also sell him one of my Pelikan M1000 pens too in the next day or so.

I just sold the Pilot Custom Heritage 912 FA. It's a good pen. Simple and of very high quality. I like that the clip is not a stamped one.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
