Found 8+ Year Old Mont Blanc, Do Not Know What To Do

Hi there,

 

I found a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck fountain pen at my grandparents, and it has not been used since the passing of my grandfather (over 8 years ago).

 

It has been well used, although the only 'dirt' I see are on the two parts in the image attached.

 

Should I send it to them to clean it? Or should I use a nib cleaner myself and see how to use the cartridge?

I can't see the picture on my phone, but have you tried to soak in water? You could add a drop of mild dish soap.

likely.. the OP will need to host the images somewhere else and provide the links here.

Regardless... if one's inherited a Mont Blanc & one wishes to get it working... here's the possibilities:-

 

1, if you live in a city with a MB Boutique, sure you can take it in to get it assessed & fixed. If any things broken or amiss, their technician will have access to genuine parts (if it's not too old). Best care you can buy... just like getting your Rolls Royce serviced at official dealership, of course you'll pay for it.

 

2, find a local proper specialist Pen Shop, most will either fix pens or direct you accordingly.

 

3, DIY depending on your level of handyness... maybe nothing needs fixing except a good cleaning.
