Thanks a lot for the review!

It looks like a very useable ink, suitable for many different situations.

Thank you for the review!!!!

Thanks for your review, Mew.

I have this ink & really love it. It's got that Sailor character that I've failed to find (yet) in other inks.

That Graphilo paper is good too, isn't it? Their notebooks are very minimalist, which I like. I like their A4 writing paper; I've used up a couple of packs of it recently.

Ooh, it looks nice. I'll have to consider opening my one and only bottle.

Go for it! I've only got 1 bottle of most inks but still use them all. I never hoard. Ink needs a purpose in life LOL :-)

Graphilo paper is more than nice, I find it better than Tomoe, both 68gsm and 52gsm. :)

I have their unruled notebook, the one sold by Kobe shop which has 3 version, ruled, grid and unruled. I have some of their A4 writing paper too, and have used a few sheets, it's really good.

What works in favour of Graphilo is it's behaviour, which is very similar to Tomoe, and less showthrough. It's 82gsm, which is a lot thicker than any other version of tomoe.

Edit: about the ink, I find it really good. Very smooth and lubricating with generous flow. It's one of the 3 blue inks that I like. Hakodate twilight, vintage denim and Seiran.

I have bought a bottle of Omezaki ocean, but yet to use that one.

I have about 70 sailor inks which have no reviews on FPN, so I'll go through these 70 first, then get to others. :)

Nice I like a dark blue that doesn't come off as nearly black.

Curious about Sailor Jentle Blue (will find a review, but now clicking on related links), came to your review. What a pretty, dark color! I've just discovered that I like Platinum Blue-Black (my latest Nakaya came with the cartridge loaded), and all this time, I've had boxes of Platinum Blue-Black and even gave some away. Doi!

But this Sailor Shousaikan Seiran looks darker than PBB -- and I'm not actually looking for a darker blue, even though this one is so pretty.

Thanks for the review!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
