Montblanc Bohème Chart

Great work on the chart. I believe the large Boheme is referred to as the XL.

The few times I have seen it, it was on ebay.

Sorry if my English is bad.

Excellent, facsinating, super, etc .. what a great enlightening job in a true confusing dark era of Montblanc.. Appreciated.

Just to complete my understanding of Boheme secrets, I would understand - size wise- there are 3 different sizes of Boheme;

1- The Large ones (XL Size), these are produced only on 2002, Platinum line, retractable Nib, always no Stone.

2- The M Size, all comes always with fixed nib ( must).

3- The Small size, Regular as seen in your god chart.

Correct ??

Also another question to you .. What about BPP & Rollers are they come also in 3 sizes like FP ??

Highest regards and appreciate your efforts once again.

Cheers - Amr S Laithy

Hi all.Taking a careful read on the chart (thank you again for your contribution), I find out that I need to add 13 more pieces to complete my desired collection:

Gold-plated rouge.

Platinum big size.

Silver bleu.

Solitaire citrine.

Platinum-plated crystal.

Doué platinum-plated

Doué gold-plated

Purple (this is a new edition for me).

Vert with platinum

Doué ligne

Arabesque azur (one of my favotires)

Moongarden.

I was searching for some bohemes here in Brazil and I find out models for sale, for example, the doué platinum-plated FP for about 150 USD (!!!) and a pair of FP and BP of Paso doble rouge for about 250 USD for both (!!!!!!!). They are genuine pens, but pre-owned (I don't care for this). Crisis is making people scared about money and they sell all they have at any price.

Hugs to all,

Thanks ASL!

To answer your questions:

1- I don't know if "only" in 2002. There is few information about years of production.

2- Correct.

3- Correct.

BPP & Rollers come only in one size. Rollers are the same size as the fixed nib (Medium) fountain pens. BPP are smaller.

Sorry if my English is bad.

You have a great collection.

Silver bleu is my favourite and arabesque azur is really beautiful.

I picked up a NOS Boheme Big Size/XL from an AD in Sicily. According to his records he had it in store for 6 years, which means MB were still pushing them out to dealers in 2010. The original price tag was still on the pen and read 535 Euros.

Impressive overview ! Thanks a lot, this allows me to check with my list that I have built up over the years. I currently have in my collection 29 different Boheme pens.

I see on your overview that you do not list the below models, maybe you don't consider them as Boheme, but in my collection I do.

Boheme Friedrich II - 888

Boheme Friedrich II - 4810

Boheme Henry Tate - 888

Boheme Henry Tate - 4810

Boheme Sakura Rose Gold - 88

Boheme Sakura Yellow Gold - 8

I will go in detail through your list to see if I can add some information to yours.

Cheers and thanks again !

Luc

I was just going to write this as well. I own these pens except the last one. ;)

BTW, anyone interested in the Sakura Rose Gold with the number 55/88 ?

Even so, you'd end up with a fragmented list, and it becomes an O(N²) process for each prospective requestor to check what is available: effectively recreate the list of currently active servers (without any reliable up-to-date info upfront about the inks and number of samples on offer in the thread) from the sequential list of posts, which may be spread over two or even more pages, and then query each server independently to check what is currently on offer.   It comes down to not hav

If one wanted to do this, one could just use the "About Me" field which appears to be unlimited in size.  And if a bunch of people wanted to cooperate, the Member Title field (or signature) could be used to this end - "Ink Giver" (or some such) could be used by those with inks to give...  No software edits required.
    • Arkanabar
I suppose the update issue could be mitigated.  One would post a link in signature, to the particular part of your profile where you list the inks that you're willing to post samples to others, gratis.  But looking at profiles, I suspect that would require an edit to the board's software, potentially a nontrivial task.

I read your idea as getting willing givers to publicly register as members of a set of heterogenous servers, in a system in which a client would explicitly select an available server from a list, to which he/she will then send a request privately and asynchronously. Request handling in the system is unmanaged, and individual requests are handled by the targeted servers completely independently on each other. I think the model is fine, although there are some operational concerns you may want to

First thought on the method/system of ink sharing: Think the best way, to begin with, is to follow the way of the US thread: offer up a (small) list of inks you are willing to PIF, to whoever expresses interest. Write clearly in the "mission statement" how it works, with a tiny "quid pro quo" that even a struggling student can comply with, i.e. post your opinion and a writing sample, with option of a full review if desired.   So yours truly might say: "I'm offering up samples of D
