Best Matte Black Material

I have seen a couple of posts comparing materials but color is usually a big factor in choice in those discussions.

I am interested in getting a solid black pen made with a satin - matte finish (Edison Morgan). A deep inky black color with the matte finish is important. But handle or feel is for me even more important. A velvety, silky feel that provides a secure purchase when held.

Is there a big difference in feel and color between matte black ebonite and acrylic? I have also seen Torlon on the Edison site but I'm not sure it's still available.

Anyone have experience with different satin / matte finish materials?

I have a couple of indian ebonite matte(bakul) pens and they feel pretty good. It feels like a smooth wood without lacquer. It also doesnt leave any oil residue or rather oils from hands are not obvious on that surface. The tactile turn gist polycarbonate(possibly some other material), with its machined texture surface also feels pretty good

I really enjoy this pen:

It is matte finish Italian resin. Very silky and grippy, and pitch black. Even the trim and nib are a muted, matte gray color. Added bonus, the pen is very well designed, posts great, and has very nice fit and finish.

IMHO you can´t beat the feeling of ebonite. It feels so much warmer, smoother and more silky than any other material i had ever in my hands. And you can polish it to such a nice satin/matte finish. Even though i don´t have any experience with such modern hightech plastics as Torlon i doubt it feels better.

Ebonite will warm up from the warmth of your hands and keep that for some time. So if you stop writing, putting the pen aside and take it back after a moment it will still feel a bit warm.

I`m just a few month into pen making but i tried to make sections from any material i could get my hands on - ebonite is the one i love most for sections.

best regards
