On Robert Oster's shop website Blue Sea is described as follows: " ust as you imagined it. Good shading qualities."

Well, I'm not sure it's the way I see blue sea but I think it's nice and well behaved ink. It shouldn't cause any troubles in vintage pens and behaves nicely on cheap paper. It's not water resistant.

I will have to check if I have this one. I don't remember it in my stash...

As for heat. What heat? It's a balmy 23 C in Toronto at the moment. Even my cats approve of 23 C (which is remarkable because they approve of very little).

It was 3 C here this morning. Pleasantly brisk...

Ok, but by Sydney terms, 37 ~ 40 C is warmish. Hot is 45+. You need to book another trip over here for Jan-Feb. to reset your internal thermostats...

I have both. They are different hues plus Blue Sea (not Sea Blue) is much darker. The shading is really beautiful - but not quite as gorgeous as Deep Sea.

I remember a few summers ago I was in Montreal. And it went up to 40+C! I thought Canada was supposed to be COLD!

relax, dcwaites is not on the harbour or the beach where it is usually much cooler for tourists, or you can head for the surrounding hills to enjoy the balmy air. Put it in your diary. :D

I have this ink, my first Robert Oster's ink and I love it. Beautiful color and great shading. I think this could be my favorite blue ink....

I want more Oster's inks! :)

And this is not DEEP SEA BLUE, right?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

You are correct. I have the Deep Sea blue, and I want the Sea Blue.

How many times can you say "She saw Sea Blue too at the Sea Shore" quickly without spraining your tongue?

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
