New and exclusive Bright Blue Bulletproof Ink in 3 oz glass bottle (Approx 90ml) at PUREPENS.CO.UK !!!

In October 2015, Ross and his father Ray, visited Nathan in Massachusetts to see where Noodler's is made and the man behind the brand.

Over lunch, with Nathan's parents, who help with the ink production and packaging, we discussed a new Bulletproof Blue ink for the UK to compliment the best selling Bulletproof Black and exclusive Prime of the Commons Dark Blue ink. We tried colours that would give the right characteristics and loved the bright Blue that has become Monkey Hanger.

The name... Nathan is a history buff and loves a story behind a name - You may have seen the great names behind some Noodler's inks and pens with a their historical, political and local links to his home town area.

An unusal story came up, which occured in Hartlepool in the North East of England during the Napoleonic Wars. A french ship was wrecked off the coast and all the crew were lost (or fled). When the local fishermen boarded the ship, they found a monkey in a naval uniform, dressed as such for the amusement of the French crew. Because England was at war with France and because the fishermen had never seen a Frenchman, or a monkey apparently, they took the 'French Spy' into custody and arranged an impromptu criminal trial on the beach. Extremely unfortunately for the monkey, the locals found it guilty and sentenced it to... well, the name gives the end of the story away. A very sad casualty of war, but it is unfair to criticise the ignorant locals from a different time in history. The story is so unusal that it ignited Nathan's interest and he began imagining label designs almost immediately. A few short months later, the ink arrived and is available now!

:D :D Love me some NEW ink.. :D :D

I saw this ink on their Instagram. I don't know if it a blue that suits me, I'll have to wait for a review.

Brilliant story. I love the fact its bullet proof. I would love to see a writing sample of this ink in a review - I will definitely buy it and happily pay the extra cost of international shipping to get it to Australia. A good blue is hard to find.

Feel so sad for the monkey.

Not sure I'd need this blue.

But the most interesting thing is, there are actually people who have seen where Noodler's is made and the man himself!

He does exist! :lticaptd:

Maybe a bit bright for me, but I look forward to the reviews.

Of course he exists. (You make me think of that M&Ms ad they show on TV at Christmastime ). I met him last fall at the Noodler's table at the Commonwealth Pen Show (that voice is unmistakable). The thing that surprised me is that he's a lot younger looking than I expected -- on his videos he sounds like he should be about 110 but I'd estimate that he's in his 40s or 50s.

I like the color in the swabs. I'd be interested to see how it compares to some of the other Noodler's bright blues for performance and permanence: Liberty's Elysium is a great ink, but only water resistant; Upper Ganges Blue is permanent, but very chalky looking; and Miles Standish LE is pretty waterproof but an odd color and had some issues with feathering and bleedthrough on cheap paper.

That was the idea. :D Like an inky Santa, delivering bottles & pens to all the good folks on his list (& occasionaly making an ink named for the naughty ones).

Suddenly considering ordering an American ink from the UK…

My dad loves anything monkey related (he literally has a curio cabinet full of various monkey stuff), so I might have to order this for him.

Could you give an approximate shipping quote to the US?

I've ordered it, and few other noodlers, this morning.

I'll post impressions as soon as I'll get it.

If you check pure pens website, there is a quotation for shipment everywhere.

Please do, I feel obligated to buy it as I'm resident in the UK but I'd like to see a review or two first.

If I was into blues, I would grab a bottle. But as was mentioned, seems silly to order a bottle of ink that has to go from the US to England and back to the US.

Arrived today.

As very first impression, I would not define it as bright blue, but more as light blue, or cerulean blue.

I'm not at home this month, so that I cannot compare it with other inks, but it remind me the well known Kon Peki.

It seems well behaved as ink.

From the description I expected something more similar to Baystate Blue, but is quite far from it.

I want, but I need to know that it is the blue in the top picture before I get it.

The price to here is not too bad, US$22 including shipping.
