Thank-you for that information...hopefully that will minimize the inquiries from buyers wondering where their FP's are ...

3-4 weeks from payment is approximately when the Pens will ship.

Thanks to mehandiratta and Mr. Kandan for another great group buy!

I would like two order 2 pens, for now. Of course, I might order another before the offer expires. After all, it's not too early to start Christmas shopping!

First Pen

Model : Regular-size Bamboo Model - ED Version = $50 (US)

Color: Clear Acrylic

Finish: Polished

Nib: Two Tone M, but ready for up to 40mm nib

Clip: Clipless

Second Pen:

Model : Regular-size Bamboo Model - ED Version = $45 (US)

Color: Standard Ebonite, Olive Ripple

Finish: Bakul but with polished grip section (to reduce ink stains)

Nib: Two Tone M, but ready for up to 40mm nib

Clip: Clipless

Total: US$95.00

I realize it's a probably a given that such large pens can accept the larger nibs, but I do have one Ranga 4C that doesn't have room for a 35mm nib. That's why I'm so cautious.

My bakul Ranga Zeal can sometimes get ink on the grip during transport, which I've been able to mostly wipe away with water. Does anyone know of a cleaner or solvent that can do a quicker job of cleaning the ink off of the matte ebonite without harming it? I know that dilute ammonia solutions can discolor vintage black ebonite, so I don't want to try that unless others have been able to use it safely with modern Indian ebonite.

Thanks,

Mark, aka sandburger

Thank you for organizing this group buy! I have been wanting to order a Ranga Bamboo, and this discount price is fantastic.

I noticed that there were "plain green" and "plain maroon" special ebonite options, but no reference photos. Is it possible to get a look at what thesw colors look like?

Thank you mehandiratta! That green is absolutely beautiful.

I would like to order:

Giant bamboo eyedropper

Flex Ambitious 35mm nib

Plain green ebonite from the SR series

Polished finish

No clip

It looked like we could ask for extra feeds? I too would like one extra ebonite feed if this is possible to add to the order.

Please let me know what further information to provide!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
