Hi all,

I'm looking to buy the fabulous carbon dream limited edition and I've found an used one for USD 800/- (without box / papers)

Is that fair value for the pen? Or would you recommend to wait for a better deal?

Any help is much appreciated!

Regards

Sidd

That seems like a good enough deal that I spent a few minutes on google trying to find it (I couldn't, you're safe). I've only been tracking this pen for about a month so I might not be the best source for information. The cheapest I can find is on eBay ($1350) but that listing is for a new pen.

Not having the box/papers is definitely a downer but if you don't plan to resell it that shouldn't be a problem. Does it come with the inkwell?

These pens do not sell often any more. A few years ago they could still be had, but I have not seen any for sale on n places like ebay cheaper than what you are looking at. It depends on if there is staining. If not, I find that an agreeable price.

If you want to wait it might be easier to get a good deal. However, I bought one off eBay for around $700 and it was a scam. I got my money back, but much less than what you are seeing would have to be someone in a real hurry to get money or a scam.

They retailed for $1975 new and were sometimes sold new for $1200, but not much less unless it was a clearance sale for one only. I have not seen a new one at a dealer in a while.

If you want less blah, blah, blah and more pictures, follow me on Instagram!

I can message you the link, I believe the seller has 2 pieces. (They received it from a store where it was used as display)

Actually I was looking to buy the USD 1350 pen, but they don't ship to Dubai!!

This $800/- offer is without the inkwell / box. I really like the inkwell, but my main concern is buying such an expensive used pen - as until now I've only bought new.

Oh its good that you recognized that it was a fake pen! How good was the replica?

I don't mind waiting for a bit longer, but since its an old limited edition I didn't know how easy / difficult it is to find the pen at good value.

The scam was that I never received the pen. There are no fakes I am aware of for these pens.

The main issue with a used demo pen is the staining. If it was just on display it hopefully was not inked. Most of the used Visconti demon pens I have seen show staining. if this would bother you then be sure to get lots of pictures. The pens are a pain to try and disassemble.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll request for more close up pictures!

FYI - I just listed a Visconti Carbon Dream with original box, papers, inkwell, and even the plastic wrapping for pen...let me know if anyone is interested. I'm here in the good ole USA and this is not a fake or scam. :-) Check me out on eBay: ddunc3862. 100% feedback over 15 years of buying and selling pens, guitars, knives etc.
