Seitz-Kreuznach New Colors !

Cyber6

Recommended Posts

So, our friends from SEITZ-KREUZNACH have release a few new colors:

  • Lime Green
  • Indian Summer
  • Cognac
  • Cinnamon Brown

Actually, there is a fluorescent yellow, but since I am not interested in highlighter inks, I didn't bother with that.

They have also release a new bottle size the extremely cute 30ml ... similar to the Kaweco bottles

Lets start with some pics...

My thoughts: I like them all.

  • Lime Green: Very similar to Caran D'Ache Delicate Green. Les saturated than Robert Oster Lime Green. Wet flow, no show through or bleed through.
  • Indian Summer: Goes down very bright, dries with a reddish tone... Kind of Terracota. Wet flow, no show through or bleed through.
  • Cognac: This is my color. I do like these kind of hues. This one is very direct, no green undertones or gold... just a nice light brown. Wet flow, no show through or bleed through.
  • Cinnamon Brown: Another favorite one, I do like my browns. No red undertones, it looks richer than Cognac. Wet flow, no show through or bleed through.

I did not see much shading, but in honestly my pen is a wet flex nib. Maybe in a drier nib. ;)

(Correction: I was expecting much more shading.. Cognac and Cinnamon are my favorite. I did not see sheen, not even on Tomoe)

Hope you enjoy the pics..

I love the Cognac, I like the Cinnamon... The other two are not bad, of course, but I couldn't really justify buying a bottle. They wouldn't get much use.

Weird, as I don't agree with Visvamitra this time. ;)

Love the pics! Indian Summer looks like the darker cousin to Rouille d'Ancre (sp? too lazy to look up, it's Sunday morning), and more readable but it doesn't look like there is a lot of shading there, but it does look like there is good shading with Cognac.

Nice introduction/presentation of yours! Thanks!! Good ol' 4001 bottles. Whether they (the bottles) are all that liked here or not, I'm all for them (30 ml for 4.99 Euros) and all against the 100-ml schnapps bottles (for 9.99).

Hi,

Ah me.

Cool review C - I believe only Lime Green is interesting for me. How about lubrication, do they glide on paper?

Not sure about that one. I have it in a very wet pen, and the inks are quite wet. Flow is good, but I can tell lubrication when in drier pens.

I find Lime Green too similar to Everglades Snake Ink, Caran D'Ache Delicate Green and Robert Oster Lime Green, and ... I am sure there are more. Is a must have if you live in Europe ... no need to order from Australia or pay 5 times the price. ;)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I ordered these last week, except for Lime Green, which I have covered with Akkerman #28 & Bung Box HAPPINESS, for my "Spring Start" after a dreary winter slush. But ordering inks without even a sample is always a gamble & this time it seems I will be very happy with my forthcoming inks.

You are always "in the know" for inks I like.

Thank you, Claudia for this review.

I have Cognac and Cinnamon, and knew in advance they were to my liking: they are. I hesitated, and decided not to order Indian Summer, feering it would be too orange for my liking. Seeing your ink swabs, and writting with it, I will.

Thank you :)

Thank you, Claudia. These are very nice reviews. I am interested in the Cognac, though it looks a bit like KWZ Honey, which I have.

KWZI Honey has a more dramatic shading.. (from gold to caramel to light brown).. but I know what you mean. ;)

Great review! I really like the Lime Green and the Indian Summer. Of course the Cognac is nice as well.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
