Robert Oster is new player in fountain pen ink market. He operates through ebay shop. The inks are sold in 50 ml PET bottles with a tightly secure twist cap. I don't know who makes the inks for the shop, but the colors look interesting and fresh. At the moment Robert Oster inks are available in colors

On Robert Oster's shop website Green Olive is described as follows: "This shade of Jade is unique. Flows on like fresh lemon grass, dries on like antique Jade". There's something to it. definitely. I must say I enjoy the color, especially in double broad nib. It looks fresh and has has decent flow and rather good saturation. It's not water resistant. The lubrication could be better but it's not bad either.

Is this Jade or Green Olive?

It's Jade, but it looks like @visvamitra has copied and pasted part of the description from his Green Olive review, and forgotten to substitute the correct ink colour in... I was similarly confused for a moment - but you can find the Green Olive view and compare. I love the similarity of this ink colour to some of the jade objects I was used to see a lot more often in my childhood - the Green Olive is intriguing too, but I think it's misnamed. "Golden Olive" or "Brown Olive" would be closer to the mark!

Thanks Vis!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I figured as much.

When I saw the name I feared it would be a bluish green like Edelstein Jade which I absolutely dislike. Turns out it's not a bluish green at all! Quite a lovely colour.

I Love JADE... the color is the exact color of my moms Jade bracelet. As a kid.. I use to "borrow" it cause I love the texture and the alabaster feel on it... plus the very distinctive green jade color.

Good memories... Thanks Vis.. awesome review!!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
