Sakura FP Gallery
These are beautiful ! I'm told chinkin work is becoming very expensive especially when they are crafted by masters. But when you see the level of mastership !!! You buy a work of art ! mchenart
A happy occasion it was today, when a collector friend of mine brought over several of his Namiki chinkin pens for a group shot, and allowed me to post the image on our network page. As you can see, these are no ordinary chinkin pens, but are probably the complete oeuvre produced by the late chinkin master Shouji Michikami道上正司(1958- 2010). They are, from top to bottom:Namiki Yukari Royale Squirrel, 2008 Namiki Emperor Dragon, 2007 Namiki Emperor Sakura Pheasant Limited Edition (99 pieces), 2003 Namiki Emperor Hawk, 2008/9 Namiki Yukari Royale Owl, 2009 http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae33/mchenart/DSCF1451_zpszaf71rfo.jpg

ehemem
Really difficult to choose between chinkin and maki-e. Not really, seems like a pseudochoice, since if you choose chinkin you will wind up with maki-e,,,
