Kicking Myself

Looking for some sympathy, fellow FPNers. I've been debating about a Franklin-Christoph Pocket 66 in Antique Glass for several months. I finally made up my mind to get one (and finally have the funds to pay for it), and they aren't making any more.

 

The site is taunting me with the promise of making another model in that material, but they don't say which one. I *love* my 03 and my 29, but I have a thing for pocket pens and demonstrators and the ice finishes simply don't do it for me.

 

Anyway, if anyone from Franklin-Christoph reads this: pretty please bring it back? Or have the next pen you do in Antique Glass be the new 45? Please?

Oh I can sympathise. I dilly dallied over the model 66 in antique glass, convincing myself they would eventually clear the backlog and produce it again, which in turn would give me time to ponder. I thought about it, kept putting it off and then I saw a video review of the pen and when I realised it's size I thought; 'Yes, that is the one I want and in that finish'. By then of course the list had closed and the rest is history. At some point they will put a listing up for the pen in the ice finish, but it's just not the same and I really don't want to be pulled in to an impulse buy just on the basis of the pen being available for a short time.

Look for a used one. I have seen a few for sale. Or post a want to buy ad in the classifieds.

May I suggest in the meantime to scratch the itch, you buy a Gama Jumbo Acrylic Clear Pen or some of the other similar Indian models. They might surprise you.

 

And yes, I absolutely sympathize, as I have been looking at the F-C site on a daily basis for when a new glass or antique glass or shattered ice model is introduced for ordering ...

I own several Indian pens, including a couple that are handmade. I have been very happy with them on the whole. Right now I'm looking to get something a bit smaller. All the clear Indian pens I'm familiar with are very large.
