Thanks Migo... I understand and agree with you about Burgundy, is not a real "burgundy"... BUT, I DO LOOOOVE my "Robert Oster's Burgundy"... I find it very rich and sheeny and is like a richer redder ancient copper. I really like it, and don't care that it doesn't fit the name. "A rose by any other name.... " ;)

 

 

Waiting on Moss too... I know I am going to love that one... :wub: :wub:

The name really threw me. I find it too anemic to be burgundy, but lovely if you think of it as a red copper.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I like the Emerald. It looks like what I think of as emerald, green.

vs. the Diamaine Emeraud de Chivor which is a teal color, which I understand is similar to that particular emerald.

I have to thank you for this wonderful effort that was profoundly successful and generous.

 

I am just starting to look at his inks and WoW.

Arriving late to this thread (as is my custom... :mellow: ), but just bought my first three Robert Oster inks. Here's Torquay —which seems not to have it's own thread, if my search on FPN is correct...

I like it. More similar to Diamine Marine than I would have imagined, but not quite the exact value. [The instigator in me wants to suggest that these Oster inks are really Diamine inks —the same way that people think that Akkerman inks are made by Diamine... ;) wink-wink ]

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
