It still shows that I ordered a matte finish on my pen. Is it too late to make the change to a glossy finish, as requested in my last PM?

Have just sent payment for a blue olive ripple clipless CC filler, polished finish, Jowo silver monotone M nib.

Many thanks for organising!

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

Received mine today! :D Great service from Ranga as always and quick postage. Thanks to Mpkandan and Mehandiratta for organising. Shipped quickly, in a nice gift box and secure traditional packaging. The pen writes beautifully (35mm ambitious nib- written several A4 pages of notes) and the ebonite is finished really nicely / highly polished. Came with eyedropper and the threads were pre-greased. A quick rinse of the barrel to remove manufacturing dust and you can use it straight away. The colour is more of a brown/green (accentuated in my pics) than a blue/orange but it does match the pictures in the op. Here's a pic;

And here are some comparisons with some of its Ranga siblings, with caps all lined up on the same line (Model 8-35mm ambitious nib, Duofold-stock medium nib, Zeal - 40mm ambitious and model 5- stock medium nib);

It feels smaller than the others, probably due to being relatively thin. I highly recommend the ambitious nibs. It does post, albeit loosely, but there is no need to post it. The cap on mine unscrews in only 1.5 turns and is very secure (it will not come undone in any normal situation). I think this will be a big positive for others (I actually prefer more but I know I'm in the minority). The clip is also different to my other Ranga's as shown below;

In summary I am very pleased with my purchase! I believe this already the most popular group buy yet. I can thoroughly recommend the eyedropper versions and the new Indian ebonites.

P.s I really like the free Fellowship pens included too :)

I am happy to see photos of what each of you have received. It makes the wait much easier.

These are truly beautiful pens and I'm so grateful that this group buy was arranged for us. It is wonderful that these pens are being brought out into the world. I do appreciate the opportunity to have a beautiful Indian made eye dropper fountain pen.

Thanks to both Mr. Kandan and Mr. Mehandiratta for making this possible for us.

Mine arrived today, packaged in the usual manner - cloth outer wrap, newspaper wrap below, then secure box, along with the free small eye dropper pen (has anyone actually tried to use one of these).

The matt surface may not feel silky smooth like a polished pen, but it still feels good. The nib was a little scratchy at first, but that might just have been surface detritus a rinse did not remove as now it's fine. My only gripe is nothing to do with messrs Kandan and Kandan, nor the workmanship, but the grip section of the pen itself is actually a little too narrow for me - no way I could have known in advance and I don't regret the purchase.

Suitable picture on an unusual pen rest ...

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
