Another close-up. I had a hard time capturing the ink's shininess.

This is another ink that's very paper-dependent. Here it is on more absorbent paper:

Very nice review! I have to say that I am not real thrilled by the color. It's just not me.

I wonder how this compares to the discontinued Montblanc Racing Green? Anyone have both?

It does not..

Regardless of it's comparisons to any other ink, it's on my list to obtain.

Really deceptive -- the written examples definitely look dark green (I was thinking much like the color of PR Avacado). But the swab makes it look like Noodler's El Lawrence....

Thanks for the review. This is one I think I need to think about. I'm not sure I like it, but I'm not sure I *don't* like it....

Thanks for the review, the shading is really lovely. :) Greens labelled as hunter greens don't normally interest me, but I could see myself using this one, it's very pretty.

This is a fantastic ink and the review is pretty spot on. Depending on the paper used, one can bring out the brown or stone green in it.

More reviews, gylyf! XcD

Thanks for the review! This is the type of color that I like... From the scan it looks like a green with grey/brown undertones. Really my kind of ink. Have to fire up my browser and find out how to lay my hands on a bottle :-)

This is an amazingly complex ink. As has been said, paper and nib choice give you a lot of possibilities.

Wonderful inks, KWZI, and Konrad & Agnieszka are a pleasure to deal with.

My favourite sketching ink at the moment. Can't stop using it. Every paper stock brings out a different nuance in it's colour.

  • 5 months later...

Just got a bottle of this (and two other KWZ inks).

Dark and mellow enough for everyday use. An interesting ink that doesn't hurt your eyes. Wonderful!

Pens: Conid Kingsize ebonite (x2)
Inks:
KWZ Dark Brown / KWZ IG Orange / Diamine Chocolate / Diamine Burnt Sienna / Diamine Ochre / Monteverde Scotch Brown

KWZ makes several nice greens - this one, Midnight and Rotten - but having both Miruai and Tokiwa-matsu already, I can't really justify getting this one, pretty as it is.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
