Krishna Ink – Monsoon Sky

In Indian Fountain Pen industry or Circles, Dr. Sreekumar is quite known for his hand-turned fountain pens and almost 20 types of nib tuning. However recently he has shelved in to making fountain pen inks under the brand name of KRISHNA.

These inks are sold on eBay India Page for Rs. 550 (8 USD) each for 5 Nos. 30 ml ink bottle plus shipping. Now they come in new glass bottles.

This ink shades almost close to none. The ink flow is good. And has no feathering.

WATERPROOF TEST

Ink after water rub test leaves behind certain traces thus making ink bit water resistant and even after water wash it is still readable.

INK DRYING TIMES

The ink drying times hover just around 25 to 26 seconds.

CONCLUSION:

The colour reminds me of Diamine Teal or Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo. But unlike Iroshizuku it has no shading or sheen. It has no feathering and has consistent flow. Its an okay ink for me because of the colour but I would any day prefer my Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo because of sheen and shading and amazing flow properties. However that comes at high price. This 30 ml bottle just costs less than Rs. 100.

Following are the summation of ink properties:

  • Feathering : No
  • Sheen : No
  • Shading : No
  • Lubrication : Moderate
  • Flow : Good
  • Water Resistance : Good
  • Drying Times : Good
  • Nib Creep : No
  • Clogging : None
  • Odor : None

Feedback and Comments are welcome.

The ink can be bought from the ebay store of Krishna Pens. Link is given below.

These inks are really good. Thank your for your reviews of them so far If they were to become available to the European market there are quite a number that I would be very keen to try and I think they might give other ink companies a run for their money.

i actually agree with what you said... however I must tell you that this is currently one man operation and every time it comes to stock on eBay.in it gets sold out immediately...

I wouldn't use it probably but it looks somewhat interesting on your photos.

He must surely be aware of international interest, I hope it strokes his ego a little... and that he will soon relent and offer all of us a chance at his inks. They look beautiful and I have a long wish list already!

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
