Snapfil Fountain Pen Counter Display Case

I have had my eye on this display case for a few weeks. Bit the bullet and bought it last weekend. I added the lower shelf and the green felt fabric. The case has been restored and I do believe that it may have had mirrors on the back 2 doors. What do you think ... was there probably a mirror on each door or not?

The name plate on the back top says "Made by Specialty Display Case Co. Kendallville, Indiana"

Gives me a great place to display my Sioux City collection (from left to right): Houston Fountain Pen with a Houston 3 nib, Snapfil fountain pen with a Houston 2 nib, Jiffy pen with a Jiffy 2 nib and a Snapfil pen with a missing nib. Now, I just need more Sioux City pens (and even a Kaligraph pencil or 3) since I do live in ... Sioux City, Iowa.

That's great!! Is there evidence of mirrors mounted to the doors?

What years do you think that was used?

No evidence of mirrors but in researching I did see a similar case with mirrors on the doors. Personally, I like the wood instead of mirrors.

I believe this case would be from the early to middle 1920's since this is when they would have been manufactured.

if you like the wood doors then i wouldn't worry about mirrors and leave it be. i also like it with out the mirrors.

Don't wreck the fantastic look you have as it stands. Mirrors no way!

Between this and other things I've seen posted here, I might have to start frequenting antique stores.

David, LOVE the case!! Should you ever think of parting ways with it, I would be interested in it. :)

David, Sorry for the late response but have been "offline" for a couple of weeks. I was not able to go to Chicago this year but maybe another. I would have loved to be there to hunt for some more Houston/Snapfil/Jiffy pens from Sioux City! :) I hope you had a good time.
