Krishna Inks – Color Chart 2

I would like to thank Dr. Sreekumar for sending me the samples and also for the effort that he has put in. I will be reviewing all one by one.

This review is about GHAT GREEN ink from KRISHNA. This is one of my favourite inks from the lot. Though Ink drying times were high, however new batch that he has release has massive improvement on ink drying times.

Krishna Ink comes in plastic bottles in 30 ml quantity and new lot with INCREASED PRICES will come in glass bottles now.

INK SPLASH

Oh man I love this colour. Its fantastic. Also it shades subtly, however there is no sheen.

The ink even shades in fine & medium nib also as good as in stub nibs.

WATERPROOF TEST

Krishna Ghat Green – Waterproof Test

Ink when rubbed with water gives away the colour, however it leaves behind dark lines which are still legible. So I can say its moderately waterproof.

INK DRYING TIMES
img_20160221_165622.jpg?w=1000
Krishna Ghat Green – Ink Drying Times
Ink drying times are massive and I have informed the seller of the same. And he has confirmed me that the new current batch has less drying times of less than 30 sec.

There is no feathering of this Ink as you can see from this close-up.

CONCLUSION:

I like the colour, this is absolute lovely colour. The closest ink with same colour that I can think of is R&K Alt-Goldgrun.

The ink has amazing flow properties and is moderately lubricated as it writes amazing with my (bleep) nib of Guider Pen, its inexpensive, and yes it doesn't stain. Only hitch is Drying Times.

Following are the summation of ink properties:

  • Feathering : No
  • Sheen : No
  • Shading : Moderate
  • Lubrication : Moderate
  • Flow : Good
  • Water Resistance : Good
  • Drying Times : Very High
  • Nib Creep : None
  • Clogging : None
  • Odor : None

Ink can be bought from : LINK (Ebay India Store)

Stunning color. I absolutely love it. Drying time seems crazy though ;)

I have reordered the sample... As per Dr. Sreekumar the new ink has half the drying times...

Gorgeous!

Yeah it is... and if I compare it with Alt-Goldgrun ... it is a wet ink...

Excellent review, Mehandiratta. Very nice color. I look forward to obtaining some Krishna ink in the future.

Mary

Thank you... I hope someone starts selling it internationally... or I would have to do a group buy for all of my friends....

That's beautiful! Thanks so much for the review. Wish the inks were available here from someone. Maybe Vanness should try!

Perhaps he would be interested in doing a group buy to save on the shipping costs. I'd love to own a few of these inks.

Agree on that :) I could promote them in Poland. The question is whether Doctor will be able to fulfill growing interest in these inks :)

He will see the intrest and produce inks accordingly...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
