Garnet Red - Graf Von Faber-Castell

Graf von Faber-Castell was founded in 1761 and developed into the major manufacturer of wood-cased pencils. With time they started to offer much broader range of products. Few years ago company's introduced six inks. Recently they've added three new colors to the line.

  1. Carbon Black
  2. Cobalt Blue
  3. Deep Sea Green
  4. Garnet Red
  5. Hazelnut Brown
  6. Midnight Blue
  7. Moss Green
  8. Royal Blue
  9. Stone Grey

Garnet Red is my least favourite of "old" GvFC colors. It's dry and not p[articularly thrilling.

The name describes the color accurately, and it does shade nicely.

Mh, very interesting comparison. it doesn't look washed out in the review. Thank you for sharing!

I've tried this ink in several pens and on several brands of paper and and the results vary depending on pen/paper/light. Personally I like it a lot!

I am with TheDutchGuy on this. There are better matches of pen and paper for it. Right now it looks excellent in an Onoto 2500 18k. A quick check of my ink book suggests that it flies better with vintage, softer or more flexible, nibs, rather than in modern wide thin lines.

Thank you for sharing. I found this one disappointing.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
