I'm in too! The website for INCOWRIMO 2015 was quite brilliant - I'm checking it often but it's not updated. So, PM me for an address and we'll get writing on our own. Happy penning! M.

I'm now guessing that since it still hasn't been updated, it probably won't be...

I committed to participate in InCoWriMo. My first letter was a thank you note.

February 4 is National Letter Carriers Day. I'll write that thank you on the third and leave the letter at the mailbox for my letter carriers. Still lucky to have individual boxes at the houses in my neighborhood.

First letter mailed and second letter written, but I need more addresses. I still have half the month to fill.

I was gonna try INCOWRIMO this time, but have been doing LetterMo (Month of Letters) for the past 3 years and decided one challenge for the month was enough. OTOH, if you'd like to write me a letter/postcard/whatever I will happily write you back. It may only be a postcard but I will answer. PM me for my address. Happy writing!

If anyone would like to receive a letter from me (most likely a short note or postcard rather than a lengthy piece of correspondence) please PM me your address! My second half of February is looking empty.

I'm going to write short notes for a few places I've visited in the past few years. That is one way to have a receiver for your letter a day. I wrote a thank you to the person at Project FeederWatch who identified a hawk from photos I sent.

If someone impacted your life, even years ago, a letter would be a welcome surprise.

I've been writing this month but since it's my first year, I'm not quite sure what I should be writing about. What do you guys write about? (Especially to strangers)

If anybody is looking for a home for a February letter or post card, you can send it to me. I'll pamper it and tie a ribbon around it. My address is on my blog, so I guess there's no reason not to post it here.

I second this idea - I always champion the cause of telling people how they have positively impacted your life. We don't DO this enough (we are much better at telling people what they have done to screw up our lives, actually).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
