My latest ink is Diamine Rustic Brown

I decided to get Diamine Rustic Brown because I like my brown inks to be reddish browns. I wasn't disappointed with this one. It's definitely a good reddish brown colour. In fact it was almost a deep burgundy in bright daylight. It was writing quite wet for me in my Lamy Safari. In fact I had to check the nib tip width because I thought it was writing more like a M. It writes very smoothly and makes my Safari feel well lubricated. I really liked it. Although it stained my fingers, it washed off in the shower. No problems with clean up in the Lamy converter either.

  • Although this isn't a waterproof ink, it shows good water resistance, as do most Diamine brown inks.
  • Bearing in mind the paper I use is thick with a shiny surface, and I used a Lamy F nib, this ink took 12-15 secs to dry. That's quick on this paper.
  • It flows through the pen very well and lubricates the nib very well. I saw no skips or hard starts while I did swabs and dry time tests.
  • It is currently available in 80ml glass bottles, 30ml plastic refill bottles or International sized cartridges.
  • Diamine sell it directly to end-users on their web-site.
  • It's a reasonable price.

Aw! I think I've fallen in love with this color at first sight.... Now I need to do more research and decide whether to get one! Thanks for this informative review: )
