Pavarotti half price and 149 :D

Half price is really great. Had the chance to buy it with 30% but didn't buy it.

I got a donor pen for my danish black MB 206, it needed another cap, the old cap was similar except it did´nt have the "montblanc" writing on the side, it also needed another nib.

I have a similar pen in coral red, they are nice, well built and strong pens.

Nice platinum 149! Speaking of nib stickers, the one on my 1912 Heritage is already worn off and peeled away.

Golden yellow ink, one bottle only, today. I have found that I need another 149 to use that ink.

A Tribute to the Montblanc BP purchased for 50% off at the Honolulu airport duty free. At that price I could not refuse. I actually went in to buy the Heritage capless RB. The clerk said "I do not know if you would be interested but this one is 50% off". Of course I was interested, it is a gorgeous pen. The weight and balance are excellent and the pen feels very good in the hand. They had one more pen at 50% off but I left it alone. It was the diamond Meisterstuck. I think it was the RB.

Thank you! Yes, it is :-) Of course the nickel plated clip is worn but I will leave it this way, rather than having it re-plated. So far I even have not cleaned it so I'm curious if it still will hold ink once I have sourced a matching nib for it.

Cheers

Michael

Back in October I was fortunate enough to secure a new NB Collection Box through my local Boutique -- talk about craftsmanship! My modest collection is now contained in this box.

What the name of this MB pen second from the left i love it ?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
