All,

Just curious which inks you prefer for your wetter writing 149?

Have a medium nibbed modern that has extremely generous flow and was curious if anyone had found an ink solution...

BTW, using J. Herbin Perle Noir now...

Thanks!

Ah, it occurred to me I phrased my question poorly...

What inks have you found to TAME your wet 149er?

The flow is overly generous, and I would be curious if anyone has found an ink to balance....

Montblanc Permanent Blue. I have it in my 146 and it loves it! Lovely shading and well behaved. This ink tames the wildest beast.

My 149 is partial to Defoe Green. Great shading with a wet writer.

John.

Thanks for the tread and suggestions. My 149s are all wet writers too. The Montblanc inks I've tried were too watery for my taste. Midnight Blue could be an option but I wouldn't even use it in a medium-nib149. 4001 inks are drier, so I might give them a try.

All, a bit more - it was suggested to me that Lamy and Waterman inks are also somewhat drier...

Going to try Lamy as I don't mind the blue/black color... (I have many of these, just haven't used them as the colors are unexciting...)

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
