Noodler's Blue Upon The Plains Of Abraham - Bupa

I have yet to receive my Noodler's BUPA ink but I thought I'd relate a story.

As a Canadian, in Elementary School I learned about the historic battle that took place on the Plains of Abraham back in 1759 between The Brits and the French. I recalled the description of how the British troops scaled the treacherous cliffs leading from the St. Lawrence River up to the plains, under cover of dark to surprise the French.

I even recall pictures drawn showing steel jawed British troops climbing the near vertical "to fall is certain death" ramparts.

Then I visited Quebec City.

A four year old could stroll up to the plains and hardly break a sweat. I suspect the most difficult thing the Brits had to do was stay quiet.

Haven't been to Quebec City, but I do remember going to seen the remains of Expo '67 in Montreal (after it got renamed "Man and his World"). And that my parents breathed a huge sigh of relief that they could find a motel near the exposition site, so my dad didn't have to brave the traffic in downtown Montreal a second time.... :o

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Oh, if anyone wants some, let me know. Wonder pens has it in stock for $16.50 Canadian (mine came in the plastic bottle.) I can order a couple and ship out.

It's also easy to order directly from Wonder Pens. They ship to the US without problems.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Anyone else find that this ink feathers excessively? I needed this ink like I needed another $20 sitting on a credit card, but I got suckered in to the Canadian Exclusive branding position.

Nope, my bottle doesn't have any problems feathering. It actually works quite well with cheaper paper, though I mostly have put it in finer nibs.

Maybe thats my issue. Out of 40-50 pens I probably have a single fine nib from my early days of collecting before I was aware of nib size.

Ill have to dig my collection out of storage and find a fine to try. Due to space these days i just keep a handful of my favorites out and theyre all medium.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
