This is a great PIF, I like your motivation (they will hopefully make someone else happy)!!

Not an entry, just wanted to say this sort of thing is the best side of the community.

I'd love to put my name in the running for the Pilot Prera. This pen is on my wish list, but unfortunately, my family is still a little shy about purchasing any fountain pens or inks as gifts. :-) Thanks for this generous offer.

I've been visiting these forums for a long time, learning plenty of incredible things from the contributors. I just joined today, and I think it's wonderful how generous people here are with both their knowledge and their pay-it-forward offers!

I've never tried anything by Kaweco, so I'd like to enter for the Cult Pens by Kaweco

Thank you for the generous PIF!

Very interesting and impressive PIF!

I would like to enter for Kaweco Sport, never try one and a lot of good reviews out there.

Right now, this is about the only way I can afford a new pen, so I'm entering for the Pilot Prera. I've heard a lot of good things about Pilots, and I'm looking for one with a form factor I'll really like. The MR/Metropolitan has that giant step between barrel and section, which has prevented me from buying one. While I really like my 78G, it's a bit slim for my taste. And getting the Prera would very likely lead me to pass the 78G on to my wife, who loves slim pens.

Not that I wouldn't also love the Kaweco Sport, but per your instructions, I'm only going to enter for one.

OK, here's an overview of the entries so far:

#1. Pilot Prera: 17 entries

#2. Cult Pens (by Kaweco): 9 entries

#3. Kaweco Sport: 16 entries

Remember: the deadline is the end of Monday 16 November, so you still have a few days left if you want to enter. See the original post for full details.

@ Four X Four (#35): you're getting your own special draw, for a Kaweco mini-converter (used). As you're the only entrant, I'll toss a coin: just let me know whether you want to call heads or tails...

#2. Cult Pens (by Kaweco): 9 entries

The other 8 entries for the Cult Pens pen all private messaged me to let you know that they'd like to withdraw their entries. They just asked me to do it for them. ;-)

In all seriousness, very, very cool of you to do this exceptionally generous giveaway.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
