Suggestion, do not burn yourself. We adore you and your work. Besides, healthcare can be expensive.

The work, however, is stunning.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Hehehe yeah, I think I will take your suggestion. Oh, we have universal healthcare, so I actually didn't have to pay anything. It is almost gone now, so that's something.

I am quite happy with the results, even though there is a lot of room for improving, methinks hehe.

  • 2 months later...

I still haven't filled up my journal. I am totally in love with it.

That's great to know!! I was wondering, what finally happened with the one that had all the samples and so? Did you keep it? Or is it flying around somewhere?

Also, I was wondering if I should start a new thread for my future posts, seeing as this one is pretty long already... what do you think?

Certainly you may start a new thread.

The black one is coming home from Curacao in the next few weeks and then it will go around again.

I will definetly be starting a new thread with my new interesting post as soon as I have it.

About the journal, I meant the green one, the one for the pen show I did last year hehe. I have seen Monica's one has really been everywhere! I can't wait to see what people have done in it!

OH, I will go track that one down. I think Amber the Younger aka Aquitaine aka my daughter has it and uses it at pen shows. She was the one who talked to Pen World initially.

If you check out the link in signature for the UV inks, you can see some of the crazy stuff I have done with my first journal.

Like this:

Here is one the pages from my notebook.

And here are parts under UV light. Check out the Pilot Erasable Disposable fountain pen - the U-Pen.

I didn't expect Diamine Bougainvillea to show.

De Atramentis Goat has a tad bit of show as does the Levenger Cardinal Red (which sheens like crazy). The Noodler's Park red and Platinum red also make showings as does FPN's VCV. Check out how Diamine Gerbera and Sunset both turn pinkish red.

OR Like this

The background on the left is Diamine Terracotta. The Rose is Akkerman #17 and the stem is Diamine Delemare.

Everything looks different, but I wouldn't say it was really UV reactive like Ghost Blue, but something is going on.

The blue on the other side was three different blues that were washed.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
