It seems people are trying to make Omas style Arco again.  ASC had an Arco style blue white Mora Stylos pen.  Now Leonardo has some grey Arco style material.  So i ordered one.  Curious to see what it'll actually look like compared to the pictures.

Oooooh... très chic!

I was somewhat impulsive myself today.

Got sniped when I placed a bid on a Pelikan M700 Toledo (old style with two-tone F nib). The Toledo was very budget-priced (well, at least for a Toledo with matching box) and (not liking F nibs) I had already sourced a matching B nib elsewhere. Placed my bid in the last minute and then I was the only bidder until... a few seconds before the auction ended a second bidder came in and sniped me.

I went "Oh... okay?", turned around and bought a M700 Toledo from the same time right on the spot, with BB nib, box, outer box and papers, costing me only a few Euros more than the first one plus the spare B nib.

Guess that counts as impulsive...

A Kaweco Collection because I have been looking for a pocket pen and it came in olive drab with gold (colored) hardware. Too cool to not immediately buy.20220617_162549.thumb.jpg.d6300ef117638872879bb5c736e67a75.jpg

The Wing Sungs don't post.   They. Don't. Post.  Ink capacity is wonderful, especially with an EF or F.  I can send you one if you want to swap out the nib for something BB. I smile thinking of you and all that ink! I accidentally ordered an extra.

The ombré pen is narrow in the hand, but maybe is available in a broader nib.  I like that one.

I may take you up on that offer in the future, but for now I'm good.  Thank you!!!

it's not a wet noodle, but the nibs are quite easy to flex with just a bit of pressure that you have to be conscious of using a light hand if you want to maintain a consistent fine line throughout.

Ditto! My first FP in a while, I couldn't resist the proper green.

I think Wearingeul Mad Hatter might suit it nicely, barring any other olive ink.

I keep looking at Lapis Blue Parkers, and then I look at the pricetags.... :(

Nice haul you got there!

Ended up getting my first Parker 51 a few days ago for my birthday! It's burgundy aerometric and has a pretty smooth medium nib.

That's a great birthday present. What do you think, are you happy with it?

I've just this minute purchased a Diplomat Bijou because I apparently can't get enough of writing with eeny-meeny, teeny-tiny doll pens like the white Butterfly I was using the other day. ;) This one is red, and I can't wait for it to get here.

Co-founded the Netherlands Pen Club. DM me if you would like to know about our meetups and join our Discord!

Currently attempting to collect the history of Diplomat pens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
