My kingdom for a even a single fill of Parker Penman Safire. I have been pretty unlucky in my quest to find some of this ink. I have found all manner of limited and discontinued inks in my hunts but never even a single cartridge of the PPS.

If you were close to me I could have send you free samples.

Best regards.

To write with your favorite pen loaded with Penman Sapphire should be on every FP lover's bucket list. ;)

When I'm on my deathbed, I won't be regretting my life's lack of an ink that goes for $$$$ a bottle. I promise you this.

I suppose you could have done it in multiple pictures, one for each letter. Or a video, where you keep rearranging the bottles for each letter -- so we know you don't actually have MORE....

I still have all of those and several more of each bottle except don't care for Ebony. Then there were large quantities of boxed and bulk 100% authentic Penman ink cartridges (from 3 sellers from Hong Kong, Greece, & Australia) that each had large quantities they were selling for ridiculously cheap prices in all colors....what turned out to be the equivalent volume of $13 a bottle. See these topics where you can still go to the Ebay sales links and see the quantity and prices.

I think I still have 3,500-4,000 of these cartridges in all the colors, mostly PPS. You just pipette them into vials like Goulet Pens sells, add a little distilled water, and good to go.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

You have obviously not crawled inside the mind of a collector. It is not about use. It is about having.

No, I get it, I really do, because I could easily fall down that rabbit hole too (I did with watches for awhile...I've worked myself back down to only 11, LOL), but something like ink...well, its so gorgeous -- it just demands to be used!

To a true obsession, caveats do not exist. There are no demands to be filled, save for "more".

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
