I am not happy that you were disappointed with this ink but I must say I am glad to find someone else who is surprised by it's performance after the positive comments posted. Mine was a very similar result & after trying it in several broad (1.5) sized nibs it has never fond a home in rotation. I had ordered it immediately after it's release & had great hopes for it but the color was certainly like I expected. It is surely "NO Apache Sunset" substitute nor replacement.

You gave it a thorough review & I thank you for sharing your results.

I bought a sample, only tried it out in a Preppy and got plenty of shading, but had bleeding and feathering problems on most fountain pen friendly paper (Apica performed best). I really like the color - I think it is a bit more brown than Apache Sunset - but am glad it is out of stock where I'd normally buy it to give me some time to think.

Thank you for the review of this, I have had similar issues with my Apache Sunset and I tried this in a wetter nib (finally managing to 'fix' my Arizona Ahab to actually work) and the shading on most papers is stunning. Have you tried Autumn Oak in a wetter nib at all? I am looking forward to trying this colour.

Indeed it is more brown than Noodler's Sunset Apache, lacking that magical effect that the American ink has. It is particularly well named though ~ the golden to red brown in the ink is very much like that of oak leaves in the fall. I find it is a lovely shader on LIFE paper (a Japanese brand of writing paper ) with no bleeding or feathering with dip nibs (W. Mitchell Round Hand #4 & Brause Blue Pumpkin no. 361) and here it is as a tree on Stillman & Birn, Zeta

Not sure if this has been suggested already but would a setting for localized regions or chapters in FPN be helpful? I don't know if there is a way to find local FPN members who would be nearby. I don't know if we want to be discoverable but a setting to know how many members are in 25, 50, or a 100 miles of each other might be helpful. We can create a regions specific network like Craigslist where people could use that to connect with nearby members, conduct in person sales, arrange FPN meetups

Hi again all, I forgot to tell y'all that I made the post about Sweden ink PIF. Most have probably found it long ago, but here's a link, anyway:

I read your blog post and all the replies with much interest. I'm a FP user in Australia. Been part of this forum for years but rarely post. I did come across your ink sharing thread and considered participation. For me it's not lack of interest but lack of time to play around with FP and inks. I'd feel bad to put my hand up for the box and just have it sit until gosh knows when...   I also think that the FP community in Australia is smaller, and I wonder how many in the community are

Even so, you'd end up with a fragmented list, and it becomes an O(N²) process for each prospective requestor to check what is available: effectively recreate the list of currently active servers (without any reliable up-to-date info upfront about the inks and number of samples on offer in the thread) from the sequential list of posts, which may be spread over two or even more pages, and then query each server independently to check what is currently on offer.   It comes down to not hav
