How about 'Shimmer-o-matic 3000'

At any rate, I'll be looking for the blues and green...and okay, maybe the black.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Thoughts on pen hygiene:

Going by my personal history with both brands, Diamine first: I've had really bad experience with the ink crystallizing on the nib in the worst way with Ancient copper. I transferred it to my TWSBI inkwell so I can use the tube to do a clean fill directly to a standard international converter and the tube was blocked solid due to the clogging of the ink. Others were a little better, sargasso sea was a good one for me.

I was never a Herbin man at heart so I don't own any of their standard inks. I tried their Violette Pensee from an ink vial once and marveled at its transformation as it went down purple on the page but the dried to a straight blue.

Their 1670 line is a mixed bag. Rouge Hematite is a horrible stainer, but the grey and blue are much easier to work with. I do have emerald already but it's too early to pass judgment on it. None of the 1670 have caused any clogging for me (and I'm a pretty serious offender when it comes to inking pens and leaving them sitting idle for months)

It would be interesting to see how these Diamine inks perform in the hygiene department.

As someone who particularly loves shiny and glittery things, this new line of ink is most definitely relevant to my interests. I will unabashedly be lining up to purchase.

I think it's great that Diamine, an ink brand that I love, is adding this lineup. I just wish they had chosen a better name. Shimmertastic? Seriously? Sounds like something on a Crayola box or from an episode of Jem and the Holograms.

Those ... are kinda selling points in my book. But then, as my wife often observes, I'm an unreconstructed barbarian. And a goofball. :P

Speaking of observations that might be selling points for some (and might be very much not so for others), I note that both Gryffindor and Slytherin are well-represented in the new line. (I take no credit for this observation -- I think someone on reddit noticed.)

I was actually thinking that the movie version of Ravenclaw's colors is also represented. :)

Good...'cause I was feeling left out.

I hope it's shimmer and not the huge chunks of glitter that was the only effect I was able to get in my ink-speriments, which were no different from Sakura Gelly Rolls.

I anticipate the release of the line and reviews thereof. Childishly silly name aside, I'm all for Diamine expanding it's line of high quality inks. I greatly enjoy the Herbin 1670 inks and look forward to other brands offerings in the same vein. Such inks offer employment to inexpensive pens that would otherwise languish in my pen case.

I demand yellow with black sparkles.

The more inks the better. Even if the name is ridiculous. Maybe sparkly inks will bring more people to the hobby.

Breaking news: Reviews can come out on Friday. :)

Even if you aren't usually a fan of brown inks, please just look at the review of Brandy Dazzle.

Oh man, I'm most interested in Night Sky and Purple Pazzazz. Since I started getting into brown inks, I shall look into that as well!

I kinda wish that they went with purple/silver but I'm happy with what we've got.

Those who hurt me were not only someone else,

but also those who pretended not to notice. It was my friend.

So, for the next two days, I'm going to be bouncing excitedly in my chair for reasons that I'm entirely incapable of adequately explaining to anyone at work or at home. On the plus side, I've got even more reasons than usual to look forward to Friday. :D

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
