Pelikan Pencil Repair Recommendations?

I have 4 Pelikan pencils (2 twist filler, 2 click filler). None of them work. I've had these for years and don't have any proof of purchase, so I would be looking to someone other than Pelikan for repair.

Whom would you recommend to handle the repair work?

 

These are such nice looking specimens, but I'd like to return them to work ASAP for a reasonable price.

What's wrong with them? In what way are they broken?

The lead doesn't advance on the twist models. On the click models, the clicker does not move down.

 

Looking for names of someone who can repair. I've tried with no success.

Hmm. Not sure who works on Pencils. Have you tried Chartpak?

Post a photo of the internal mechanisms. I'm no expert on Pelikan pencils as we don't sell them and I own only one but I think the mechanisms are fairly standard, at least for the twist type.

Pencils usually have stuck leads,

If this is the case. it is easy to clean,

Major damages should be replaced for new mechanisms.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Over 1200 reviews of this topic, and not a single recommendation for a pencil repair person. (BTW, Chartpak would not agree to repair these old pencils).

 

So I went to my work table and repaired all 4.

'Glad to hear that you were able to repair your pencils. BTW, as far as I know, all Souveran pencils have 'click' type mechanisms if the pencil mechanism is removed from the barrel. The D600 and D800 do have the 'twist' function when the cap is screwed on to the barrel, but the mechanism can be clicked to advance the lead when it's removed from the barrel.

 

I believe, one of the main problems with Pelikan Souveran or Tradition pencils which can cause a malfunction is putting 0.7 mm lead in an older 0.5 mm pencil. My early D400 is 0.5 mm, but the newer D400 instruments are 0.7 mm. The earlier pencil may jam with the thicker lead.

 

What did you do to repair your pencils? Also, do all your Pelikan mecahnical pencils have erasers? I have an early D600 (engraved cap logo) that does not have an eraser under the cap.
