Accoding to nibs.com, the medium Jowo (used by TWSBI) and the medium Pilot nibs are both .55mm. The fine Jowo/TWSBI is .45mm (whereas the fine Pilot is .35mm). Of course, each nib is slightly different, but this should give you a starting point.

Current Daily Carry: Pilot Custom 743 with 14k Posting nib (Sailor Kiwa-Guro), Sailor 1911L Realo Champagne with 21k Extra Fine nib (Sailor Tokiwa-Matsu). Platinum Century 3776 Bourgogne (Diamine Syrah), Nakaya Portable Writer Midori with 14k Extra Extra Fine nib (Lamy Peridot), Pilot Vanishing Point Stealth Black with Extra Fine nib unit (Pilot Blue Black), a dozen Nockco DotDash index cards of various sizes and a Traveler's Notebook.

I have a Metro medium and a 580 fine, and for me the 580 is close but slightly more fine, and slightly more dry (which means it works well on cheap paper, if that's a concern).

I'd guess you'll find the x-fine to be quite a bit finer than your Metro medium. Personally I love my 580 in fine and use it all the time. I highly recommend it.
