Hats off to Pilot for those designs. FINALLY someone gets that there is a demand for a pen reminiscent of old school 60s designs. They are retro without being corny or stupid and the designs are fitted to a wonderful pen.

 

Looks like a pen right off the set of the Mary Tyler Moore show.

 

I will be giving out my metropolitans to friends in anticipation of getting a couple of these lovely fun pens.

I think they look too feminine. I could only maybe go with the grey. I so wanted a red and I am not spending 3x the amount of a Metro to get a Cocoon. Like the animal prints, the patterned bands look too jarring. The only animal print I liked was the taupe lizard. Oh well, I already have four metros. I would have happily gotten a couple more if they had released colors I liked :(

I just showed this to my 10 year old and she says she wants one. I like the gray and purple. She wants the blue and green.

She has 2 loose teeth. Would one of these be a weird Tooth Fairy gift? Hmmm....

I'm on a pen ban (5 or 6 pens ago, heh) for the rest of this year, however surely this doesn't preclude pen purchases for other people.

I've recently got a Tombow Object FP in purple and was just looking at the golden orange colour earlier today. These look very similar in style and colour range - definitely going to get the purple, probably the orange and quite likely the red as well :)

 

Anyone know about planned availability in UK ( / Europe) and likely price point?

I was thinking they'd look better if the barrel and cap were solid, matte color and the retro pattern was on the section. I like the grey one, though.

I wonder which colors are most popular and will sell out first.

 

The kiddo looked at the photos again and changed her mind about the colors she liked. She will be getting the purple one from the Tooth Fairy or in her Christmas stocking, whichever comes first. :)

While not my personal preference, one of these will be perfect for teaching the kids. They just weren't that excited about my black on black metropolitan filled with Noodler's black ink.

 

But, one of these with an Iroshizuku would be perfect!

So far it seems the purple and turquoise is making its way out the door fairly quick!

 

I think one of the retro colors with an Iroshizuku ink would be wonderful that should get the kids excited.
