So it’s 2 1/2 years later………… any news of the Travelling Arts Journal? It must be 6 or 7 years since I added my contribution and I’ve never seen the journal since!  If there’s a post with news of how to view the completed journal I’d appreciate a link.

I was just wondering about that myself recently.  It was a cool project and I was happy to have taken part in it and would have loved to see what people who got sent the journal after me contributed to it.

I feel the same way. (I was an early contributor.)

If someone scanned the pages, could they share them here?

I would love to be next, as long as I'm not cutting in front of anyone else who may have been in line in front of me.

I've lost track. (Damn cancer, I just forgot about it.).  I know I don't have it.  Let me see who I might have sent it to - my computer was stolen, so I don't have the mailing list.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

amberleadavis and migo984, I am afraid that I have never received it.  We may need to track back a bit to see who may have last received it.  If it is out there somewhere and it resurfaces, I would enjoy adding my small contribution.

I think I have the last book, but I don't have scan abilities. Who can I mail it to?

Oh thank goodness!  Can you send it to @DrDebG or @migo984.

Hi

I already added my contribution many years ago so this needs to go to you I think. I was just wondering if the original is still out there somewhere to see the entries……

Hi everyone!

The Traveliing Arts Journal (Group 2, Book 2) just made it to my home today.  ThreadorYarn kindly sent it on to me.  The journal if full, so I will add a separate page or two, then I will send it back to amberleadavis for scanning.

The Journal is now on its final leg to amberleadavis.  She will enjoy reading all of your entries during her recovery.  And sometime later, she may post the journal at her leisure.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
