Massdrop - Wedgewood Jasper Chocolate Fountain Pen

Recommended Posts

Massdrop is offering a Wedgewood metal pen with a chocolate colored covering, and it looks very dignified. Features a lifetime guarantee, gold plated nib in medium, and a gift box. It should be a good writer, and it's a lovely color. Only 7 days left, and only a couple of commits needed to get the lowest price of $84.99, against a MSRP of $160. Postage, as usual, is very inexpensive, at $2.73 to me in MA.

I couldn't resist the color, and I like the ribbing on the body. The chrome accents look great against the rich chocolate color. Comes with a gift box. Looking forward to giving it a write, maybe while eating a piece of candy....

Giving the information regarding the Massdrop offering is fine. Giving specific information regarding the quantity discount versus original price is valuable. Providing picture is a nice touch. Now, perhaps providing the direct link would be suggested. The idea is to share the Massdrop offering so that others might join in a timely manner. This is suggested so they don't have to hunt and search through Massdrop offerings to get to where you spent an adequate amount of time. You can either provide a disclaimer, or assume those interested know you don't work for them. It would not only make it easier, but those who might be interested in lowering the price would appreciate doing so without taking up a whole lot of time trying to locate it. Just suggestions. Since, at one time, used to share Massdrops routinely and found the suggestions to be helpful.

Thanks for your reply. As you can very plainly see, I'm a newbie at this, also at Massdrop. I'm not certain, but I think I have the link to the pen. The website doesn't make it easy to find, after you've committed it seems to always link to the account.

Anyway, this may work: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/wedgwood-dkp-jasper?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_med

I know it isn't always easy to find a specific item. I had a difficult time using a variety of key words, all showing "0" or the wrong things. Any hints to be better able to provide the link would be appreciated. You never get too old to learn...

Since I didn't provide it, here is a disclaimer: I have no connection to Massdrop, or any of its suppliers, except as an occasional customer. After making the comments that I did in the above message, it should be fairly easy to see that I'm not affiliated, not with the trouble I have in navigating it, anyway.

You are quite welcome. I did not look at your status. I merely wanted to offer you suggestions in order to help with your Massdrop. We were all Newbies once, so Welcome. We appreciate you joining us.

Usually, what I tend to do is go up to the URL address. It is the address which appears up above in the white long rectangle box at top of page. Right click it anywhere on the address itself. It should all turn blue, the entire box. It will also turn blue if you go up to it and click on it without right clicking it.

Choose from the list which will appear:

COPY OR SELECT ALL(if you press SELECT ALL, you will have to do an extra step, you will have to press COPY).

You have just copied the URL/address of wherever you are located in terms of the page you are on. You can now simply go to where you want to input the link and right click your mouse again or touchpad on your computer and you should see a similar list appear. Press PASTE wherever you want to put the link.

You can also do the above using function keys directly on your keypad. Simply move your cursor up to the same address above and instead of all that right clicking, press CTRL C or CTRL A for CTRL A you will have to press CTRL C to copy the URL. CTRL V will allow you to paste the address anywhere you want as before.

Either one of the options above will work for you. Hope not too confusing. In any case, hope the Massdrop works and the price goes down to it's lowest for all who participate.

Not affiliated, nor do I work for Massdrop or Fountain Pen Network; simply, someone who enjoys helping others, including Newbies. :) They tend to be my favorites, since I was once one myself. Be Well

I've just read that the pen is available from Pen Hero, for $80 with free shipping. Please be aware that I did not know about this, as I've already committed myself at the slightly higher price. I presume, since I haven't checked, that the pen is being offered through Amazon, by Pen Hero.

As you've found out, massdrop is definitely not always a deal. Always check around before committing.

Fortunately, the mistake will cost me less than $10, including the shipping. Certainly not my most expensive lesson in a long life, but my fault for not checking around. Especially when I have purchased from isellpens before, and found her service excellent.

Saw it on the email. Not my taste, I hope you enjoy it.

  • 3 weeks later...

My pen arrived today. Fast work for MassDrop. It's packed in an attractive Wedgewood print outer box, and a heavy gift box of nice quality. The pen comes with a cartridge and a converter. The converter is of good quality, and holds a goodly supply of ink. The pen writes a very smooth line, M nib isn't scratchy, Posted or unposted, the pen is well balanced and hefty, not too heavy. For the price, especially at the Amazon price of $80 + free shipping, I'd say it's a good value, if you like the design of the pen. Since my last name is Brown, and I haven't much in the way of pens of that color, I find this one appealing. I'm content, but I'll check on MD offers after this.

I've also seen them offering what I consider to be ugly pens at what seems to be less of a good deal. Variety finds a buyer, I guess.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
