Virginia eh? I'd take you up on that.

And for the next will be coming out of Austin,Texas, USA.

I'll take a letter from the land of Shiner Bock!

I would love to send a letter to somewhere-not-in-North-America. You'll receive it from Oregon, USA, where we are known for rain, micro-breweries, and the documentary known as "Portlandia." (No guarantees that your letter will include rain or beer, however.)

How about sending a letter to Germany, land of some famous breweries? :-)

I'd love to send mine to any place in the world, so who's up for a letter from the land of Lamy and Montblanc?

I am located in SoCal. If the next post is international, it'll be my very first letter to write to someone outside the U.S.

I'll take a letter from Finland. I'll PM my address momentarily.

While I'm posting on this thread...I received a letter from someone on FPN in the last few months (via this thread, I think) that used a blue Franklin-Christoph ink. I think it may have been a vintage/out-of-production ink. Do you happen to be that person/use that ink? If so, can you tell me specifically what ink it was? Thanks!

Next person gets a letter from Green Bay, WI.

I'm not that person but a letter from Wisconsin would be great :-) I don't know anything about that state so you will need to tell me what it's like there ;-)

And who wants a letter from Germany and learn something about my country?

I'm from the Netherlands, and I'd love to hear a German person's vision on Germany. You can write in German, English, or Platt, if you know it.

So, the next person gets a letter from Twente, in the Netherlands.
You can choose what you want me to write about. A few things that I could talk about, are:

1. I can tell you a short version of my life's story. A lot has happened.

2. I can tell you about my region and the regional language some of us speak.

3. I can tell you about my work as a musician.

4. I can tell you my view on politics, and current affairs in the world.

You can also choose in which language I write: English, Dutch, German, Esperanto. I can also write Swedish and French quite poorly, or write in Dutch low Saxon, which I doubt anyone who isn't from here can actually read.

I'm game for this! I'm a 42 yo man, and I'm finishing my MBA in 3 weeks. Hobbies before, and hopefully again soon, were fishing, brewing, photography, straight shaving, beekeeping, and kayaking. I'm happy to receive a letter from anyone, as I think the last handwritten letter I received was when I was a freshman in college in 1992, from several of my friends (ultimately providing email addresses...).

Bumping up the thread!

Next poster will get a letter from Croatia (ok, ok, too many ink samples received at once - you get to choose which colours you would like it to be: reds, greens, browns, purples..?), and you may get a perfectly usable and tested recipe!

I am sort of confused, but I would love to send a letter and receive a letter.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
