Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Are these new? I don't remember seeing them on the De Atramentis website (which I check up on every now and again). And why is the one called "Goat ink"?

Sigh. Like I need *more* inks. Can I use you as an excuse? I'm already using Cyber 6 as the excuse for "I really needed those KWZI inks" and "I really needed Noodler's Blue from the Plains of Abraham"....

I believe the "goat" ink is alluded to being perhaps Fuschia. If so it is one of the 'Document" inks from DA. Remember these just went "on sale" today @ Goulets so you might want to check there to compare the color swabs. ................................ 20% off DA & R&K for the month of July @ GP..........................if you buy 5 it is almost like getting ONE for FREE!

De Atramentis inks on sale at gouletpens.com. I might get Jane Austen while the sale goes on. Mint Turquoise is one of my favorites

Oops that was posted right above this. I think they are $9.75.

BTW, Mint Turquoise is water resistant.

And these are samples of "new" pinks from De Atramentis. Goat is part of the Zodiac series and it is listed as Fuscia according to the website as Steve pointed out. I'll ink up a fuschia later and tell you, but buy ink now.

Also, Isellpens.com has the DeA inks on sale.

Ah, I see that "Goat" is one of the Chinese Zodiac series (unfortunately only 3 others were listed on the De Atramentis website).

The question of course, is whether the color actually is the same "fuchsia" as the Document ink or any of the regular line. Sometimes the inks are relabeled from their regular line equivalent. But sometimes they aren't....

No Cherry Blossom or Goat on Goulet or isellpens as of now.

Does anyone have a swab or writing sample of D'A Apple Blossom? I see no reviews.

Ruth, if it isn't, it's darn close. I have a bottle of Fuschia. I will try and ink up today or tomorrow.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
