Noodler's Apache Sunset - Where?

Hi, just a quick hopeful. I'm very fond of inks that shade and I've heard great things about Noodler's Apache Sunset and set out to try it for myself. I'm in the UK and understand that Noodler's don't export any longer but I'm struggling to find an online store that has stock of it. It's resolutely 'out' where ever I turn. Any help would be really appreciated. :)

Try here. UK stockist. From experience they give very quick service. Appears that Apache Sunset is in stock at the moment.

Edit:

Oops - sorry! It looked to be in stock but when you try to order, it says no stock.😞

Thanks. I tried Purepens and I know the Writing Desk say it's no longer exported. I also tried several US sites but it's always out of stock. I guess I'll just have to keep trying. :)

I know pure pens are currently waiting on a new delivery inks from noodlers, they don't get it in very often and Apache Sunset tends to fly out the door when it does come in.

I may be wrong (and probably are) but from what I have picked up Purepens is the only stockist of Noodlers in Europe.

Probably not very helpful if you're dead set on wanting Apache Sunset, but I find the (much easier to source) Diamine Autumn Oak a very similar ink.

I have a bottle of Apache back at home in the UK. If you can wait a couple of months till I return in early September, I'd be happy to decant & send you a 15ml bottle of it.

I was having a look at that. A kind FPNer has stepped in with an offer but if it's still difficult to get I might try the Diamine. Does it shade the same way?

These aren't my pictures, but yes it does. I haven't used Diamine AO myself but have seen another person using it, and from what I can remember it's eerily similar to my AS sample I have:

These aren't my pictures - I think the second one was taken from another FPN thread, and the top one was from some Chinese site. Just put Apache Sunset vs Autumn Oak or something like that into Google Images and you'll be able to see where they came from :)

They are strikingly similar. I might buy a bottle of Diamine as well, just for the craic.

I use the Autumn Oak as a substitute myself, it is a lovely colour.

Remember to buy direct from Diamine factory, prices are same as most other resellers and they offer free delivery if you spend £10 and give you a free 5ml sample of ink of your choice.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
